“When I saw the beautiful paintings our ancestors made 30,000 years ago deep underground I decided to write Quennu and the Cave Bear. It is a story about a girl who is courageous and resourceful. It was fun to try to make the illustrations look like the paintings I saw at Lascaux and Peche Merle in France.”
