La navigation du capitaine Martin Forbisher Anglois...
Dionyse Settle. La navigation du capitaine Martin Forbisher Anglois... Geneva: Anthoine Chuppin, 1578.
Sir Martin Frobisher was the first man to try to reach the Orient by
sailing north around America. He is said to have believed that he would
have made it, had he not found what he thought was gold on an island in
Frobisher Bay. The ore he mined and took back to England turned out to
be worthless, but his much-publicized voyages encouraged others to try
the same route. Settle accompanied Frobisher on his second voyage to Frobisher
Bay in the summer of 1577, and published an account later the same year.
This French translation came out a year later.
