Toronto Orphanages and Day Nurseries

Matron with three orphans

The Protestant Orphans' Home continued on into the 1930s under the name, Protestant Children's Homes. The Toronto Children's Aid Society continues to place children in homes that are expected to provide for their physical and emotional well-being. And daycare centres have replaced the day nurseries of yesterday as a temporary shelter for the children of working parents.
