Simon Fraser was a fur trader and explorer best known for his explorations of the Fraser River, in British Columbia. The pages displayed here give an insight to some of the physical hardships faced by Fraser and his entourage as well as describing an overall peaceful relationship with the Indians. 2008 marks the bicentennial of Fraser's explorations of the Fraser River. His explorations allowed the Northwest Company to expand trade beyond the Rockies and paved the way for the British Crown to eventually claim and settle the land.
