The oldest printed book in the Baldwin Room collection is a Latin translation of the Chronicon, a Greek history of the world by Eusebius, Bishop of Caesarea. The Chronicon was a chronology of world history, originally written in late antiquity and periodically revised and enlarged by Renaissance humanists. This Paris edition of 1512 contains the first printed reference to aboriginal peoples in Canada.
